Frankenstein - online sales have ended but tickets available at the door!
With Lindel Hart as the Creature, Colin J. Allen as Victor Frankenstein, William, and DeLacey, and Jane Williams as Elizabeth and Mary Shelley. The production will feature projection design by Florian Canga illustrating the story through light and image and with handheld video projectors and video installation manipulated by the character Mary Shelley. The brilliant science writer, Emily Anthes, our Humanist Scholar who was made available to us through a grant from Mass Humanities will be speaking following the show on Friday. Her work, that has been featured in the New York Times, includes the best selling book, Frankenstein's Cat. http://www.amazon.com/Frankensteins-Cat-Cuddling-Biotechs-Beasts/dp/0374534241/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1407774808&sr=8-1&keywords=frankenstein's+cat This is an amazing book about all of the things science is already doing with animals in "Franken" ways; glowing fish and robotic cats and the like. Emily is helping us to create the education programs that we are sharing with schools in the region. She will be offering her presentation on Frankenstein's Cat following the show on Friday, September 26 for those who want to hear her speak.
And that's not all! As we are presenting Frankenstein on the closing weekend of the Steampunk Exhibition and we invite folks to come to Frankenstein on Saturday, September 27th in Steampunk attire and we will hold a reception celebrating the Steampunk Exhibit. The Curator and Imaginator of the Steampunk Springfield Exhibit, Bruce Rosenbaum, will be our celebrity guest and he will offer a presentation on Steampunk following the show and as part of the party. It should be quite an event and we encourage folks to get to the Steampunk Exhibit before it closes! http://www.thesteampunkmuseum.com/1328_Bruce_Rosenbaum_Exhibit.html
We offer this unique theater experience in tandem with the STEAMPUNK SPRINGFIELD: RE-IMAGINING AN INDUSTRIAL CITY's closing weekend.
