Chuckanut Radio Hour with Special Guest Kathleen Flinn, Burnt Toast Makes You Sing Good, and musical guest Julianne Thoma
Our special guest this month on the Chuckanut Radio Hour is author Kathleen Flinn, who has found her way into the hearts of readers, cooks, and food lovers everywhere with her New York Times bestselling memoir The Sharper Your Knife, the Less You Cry and her inspiring second book, The Kitchen Counter Cooking School. This summer, old and new fans alike will devour her new book, which delves into the origins of Flinn's love of all things culinary, with touching and hilarious family adventures and misadventures. Tonight's musical guest is local pianist, Julianne Thoma. The Chuckanut Radio Hour, a recipient of Bellingham's prestigious Mayor's Arts Award, is a radio variety show that began in January 2007. Each Chuckanut Radio Hour features a guest author and includes guest musicians, performance poet Kevin Murphy, Cascadia Weekly columnist Alan Rhodes, an episode of "The Bellingham Bean" serial radio comedy, and some groaner jokes by hosts Chuck & Dee Robinson and announcer Rich Donnelly. The Chuckanut Radio Hour's first guest was Erik Larson and has since included Alexander McCall Smith, Elizabeth George, Cheryl Strayed, Sherman Alexie, Tom Robbins and Garrison Keillor, among many others. The Radio Hour airs every Saturday evening at 6pm and Sunday at 9pm on SPARK RADIO, KMRE 102.3FM.
Tickets for the Chuckanut Radio Hour are $5 and are also available at Village Books. Receive one FREE ticket w/ each pre-event, in-store purchase of Burnt Toast Makes You Sing Good.
