Ballet 5:8 Presents The Story of Job - Davenport, IA
Join us for this single performance by Ballet 5:8 in Davenport, Iowa. Ballet 5:8, with nine professional dancers led by Artistic Director Julianna Slager, serves Chicago and the greater Midwest. Ballet 5:8's mission is rooted in a passion for the ongoing creation and performance of new abstract and narrative works that engage audiences with innovation in the arts, beauty, and genuine discussion of life and faith.
The Davenport program will open with one of Artistic Director Julianna Slager's newest works, 'The Four Seasons of the Soul.' The contemporary ballet uses a modern resetting of the music of Vivaldi's Four Seasons as inspiration for the work's exploration of the seasons found in life's journey.
Then, Ballet 5:8 will present its successful, full-length neoclassical ballet, 'The Story of Job.' This poignant, gripping story takes audiences through the life of the Biblical character of Job, who, though righteous in God's eyes, eventually looses everything. The story forces us to ask some of life's toughest questions: where is God in the suffering?
