Formed from the acoustic kernel of Wheatfield, Woodlander http://www.reverbnation.com/woodlandermusic is a trio of award-winning multi-instrumentalists and vocalists who play acoustic Americana. Will Hobbs, Paul Douglas and Kerry Canfield have played together since the 1970s in a popular Northwest rock/country/bluegrass band called Wheatfield http://www.wheatfieldoregon.com, which was recently inducted into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame http://www.omhof.org. All three write, and Will has several local and national songwriting and lyric competition wins to his credit. With three singers and multi-instrumentalists, you can expect many three part harmonies, along with various combinations of instrumentation and musical influences.
Gary Furlow garyfurlow.com/ is a smooth talker in the low registers. He can take you to his hometown, New Orleans and back, in the matter of a breath between phrases. He sings his steamy gulf-simmered stories like he was there when it all went down, which he probably was. Gary's Portland band, The Loafers, overlaps with Woodlander featuring Kerry Canfield on bass and Paul Douglas on fiddle, guitar and harmonica. Phil Hornik on guitar and Matt Miner on drums round out the Loafers. One special treat the two bands are working up together is an a capella four-part harmony version of "Chain Gang."
