Event
Chris Koza + Will Hutchinson
Chris Koza is a singer-songwriter-composer living and working in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Critics have taken note ranging from local press: "The man's got 'pop' down!" (Minnesota Monthly) to national attention: Paste Magazine calls Koza's band Rogue Valley "one Minnesota's best bands." Koza performs nationally, supporting artists such as Brandi Carlile, The Jayhawks, Blitzen Trapper, Dan Wilson, Stephen Kellogg, and Tift Merritt. Chris has recently completed work on a new solo album. The fresh 12-song set has yet to be officially titled or receive a release date, but many of these songs will be previewed on this night at the Aster Cafe. This will be Chris's only solo performance at a Twin Cities venue until the eventual release show later this Autumn, and seating will be limited.
Opening the evening is Lincoln, NE songwriter Will Hutchinson. Last year, Will released the beautiful album Goldfish Diaries on which Chris assisted with preproduction and string arrangements. Will's lyrics are thoughtful and his prairie-clear tenor is the perfect story-telling medium. Will has one other album under his belt, 2009's Arrive.
