We're pleased to announce that Rabbi Shefa Gold will lead Metivta's annual Elul Retreat August 22-22 at Holy Spirit Retreat Center in Encino.
As we ready ourselves for Elul and the coming of the New Year, we will attune to the energies that strengthen and deepen our capacity to do the true work of Teshuvah through the practice of chant, meditation, movement/energy work and self-reflection.
The coming of the sabbatical year known as Shmittah, the Song of Songs, and parshat Re'eh will be the springboards for this work. Mining the richness embedded in these three, Rabbi Gold will guide us in joyfully preparing the ground of our being for new growth, heightening our sense of being held and guided by the Divine, and clearing our vision so that we more clearly see the Reality in front of us, and the work to be done.
As in all Metivta retreats, we will convene as a loving and respectful spiritual community. Silence will be observed for most of the retreat to create the atmosphere of stillness best suited for the contemplative practices in which we'll engage.
The fee for the retreat is $350 for single occupancy and $250 for double occupancy. The fee includes room, all meals, and retreat costs. There is a vegetarian option.
*Financial aid is available. Contact lyle@metivta.org
The retreat will begin on Friday August 22 at 4pm and will conclude at noon on Sunday August 24th.
Please register now as space is limited. We expect a full retreat.
For questions, please contact Lyle@Metivta.org or call 424 652-7070.
Join us this August. B'Shalom The Metivta Retreat Team
