Hedwig Dances

"Stampede" (Midwest premiere) by Cuban-born choreographer Marianela Boan, reflects on surviving obstacles imposed by society. The dance is performed around a rotating set of crowd control barriers and features original music by Christian Cherry with a sound design by Ms. Boan. "Moi, Aussi" (world premiere), by choreographer and company member Michel Rodriguez, is a duet that addresses human reciprocity and need. "Moi, Aussi" is Rodriguezs U.S. choreographic debut. "Rein, Bellow" holds a strange beauty. A theatrical work of potent images, the dance is composed as a fractured series of honed, variegated vignettes that sets six dancers in complex partnerships in an intimate, yet otherworldly, landscape. Design elements for Rein, Bellow include an original score by composer Philip Hamilton and set/costume designs by Young and Thomas.
