Introduction to Protein with FoldIt
Jeremy Mills, Ph.D. will give a workshop on the basics of protein structure. The computational protein modeling tool Foldit (www.fold.it)will be used to both assist in the discussion as well as provide hands on experiences with 3D representations of these amazing molecules.
Please bring your own laptop with Foldit downloaded for free at www.fold.it.
Jeremy received his Ph.D. in chemistry from The Scripps Research Institute. He has long been interested in how chemical principles can be used to sculpt biological systems for the purpose of generating protein based therapies. Jeremy is committed to science education, and can often be found judging local science fairs, or participating inevents at the Pacific Science Center.
Please bring your own laptop with Foldit installed if you would like to work the tutorials in class.
