Kiss Me Kate tells the story of the production of Shakespeare'sThe Taming of the Shrewand about the conflict on and off-stage between Fred Graham, director, producer, and star of the show, and his leading lady, his ex-wife Lilli Vanessi. Another romantic plot involves Lois Lane, the actress who will play Bianca, and her gambler boyfriend, Bill, who runs afoul with some gangsters.
