Throwing a Summer Party with The Forest Feast
Learn how to prepare a picture perfect summer party using farmers' market produce with chef and artist Erin Gleeson. Participants will make beautiful selections from Erin's book The Forest Feast. Kids and adults alike will love the creative array of goodies like apricot bites, cucumber ribbon salad, and guacamole deviled eggs. Everyone will leave with great ideas for their next summer party.
Following the demonstration will be a book signing and talk by the author. A ticket is not required for the book signing and talk, which will begin at 1:30 pm.
Erin Gleeson, a Sonoma County native, has worked as a food photographer in New York City and created images for cookbooks, magazines, top chefs and restaurants, The New York Times Dining section, and The James Beard Foundation. In the summer of 2011, she and her husband moved to a cabin in the woods in Northern California, where she wrote The Forest Feast, inspired by the local, seasonal ingredients she found in her weekly CSA box. The book is filled with easy-to-create "photographic recipe illustrations" of mostly vegetarian recipes, perfect for summer parties or casual gatherings.
