Measure for Measure presented by the Baltimore Shakespeare Factory
When the Duke of Vienna suddenly leaves town on what he claims is a secret mission, he transfers his power to his deputy, the moralistic Angelo. Morals and justice are both tested when the young Isabella pleads to Angelo for the life of her brother, Claudio. The stage is then set for the famous bed trick, the head trick, the machinations of the absent Duke, and a cast of unforgettable characters in this most-"modern" of all of Shakespeare's plays.

As with all Factory productions, Measure for Measure is presented using the staging conditions of Shakespeare's day. Factory productions bring Shakespeare's works to life in a way that is fresh and accessible to modern audiences without compromising the original language. The result is a fun, engaging, and fast-paced show that celebrates the artistry of Shakespeare's language. We call it Uncommon Shakespeare for the Common Man.
