BUILDING WITH BART
How Will BART Implement Additional Development? The San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) controls numerous sites with significant potential for additional public and private development. However, development by a public agency can be tricky due to myriad issues, dealing with many stakeholders including other public agencies, adjacent landowners, and public funding sources. What are some of the quirks of development for BART? How does BART set development policy? How is BART intending to implement policy? Which sites are currently the most viable and what are BART's plans for these sites? Please join us in July for a lively discussion with Jeff Ordway, Manager of BART's Real Estate and Property Development Department, and Darin Smith, Managing Principal of Economic & Planning Systems, a land economics consulting firm, to discuss BART'S complex development issues and its current projects.
Presenters: Jeff Ordway, Manager, Real Estate and Property Development Department, BART Darin Smith, Managing Principal, Economic & Planning Systems
