Naatak Presents a grand Musical AMAVASYA
About the Play The princess Amavasya is devastatingly beautiful: black as night. Or she is so hideous that a glimpse of her milky-white face sends the victim into a three-day slumber. No one knows, because she is hidden behind a mask. What will her people see on the day she uncovers her face? Written entirely in verse and performed with music, dance, spectacular sets and costumes, AMAVASYA is a fairytale for dark-skinned grown-ups. And perhaps light-skinned ones.
The play is a Knight Foundation Grant winner. It features a unique combination of theater, music and dance - theater by NAATAK, live music composed and performed by Nachiketa Yakkundi and group, and original dance choreographed by Rasika Kumar and performed by Abhinaya Dance Company.
