Small Acreage Tour - Cloud Nine Farm
Join us for a tour of the beautiful Cloud Nine Farm in Ridgefield and learn tips from farm owners about keeping goats, reducing mud, improving pastures, managing manure and raising healthy animals while implementing sound stewardship practices! Cloud Nine Farm was recognized by WSU Clark County Extension's Small Acreage Program as a Model Property in 2011 for efforts made by the farm owners to control stormwater, reduce mud, manage pastures and implement best management practices that improve operations while protecting water quality and natural resources.
This tour will cover a wide range of small acreage and animal management topics such as goat nutrition, footing materials, grazing practices, manure management, fencing, drainage solutions and much more. Come learn about how the landowners achieved recognition as a Model Property and how best management practices have improved their property and protected natural resources, while saving time and money.
Bring your family (no young children please) & friends and questions you have about your property. Please dress appropriately for the weather, bring a water bottle and wear sturdy boots as we'll be in the field. Resources and refreshments will be provided.
This tour is put on by the Small Acreage Program which is made possible by joint sponsorship from WSU Clark County Extension and Clark County Environmental Services Clean Water Program.
WSU Extension programs are available to all without discrimination. Persons requiring special accommodations should call WSU Clark County Extension at (360) 397-6060 ext. 0 at least two weeks prior to the event.
