DIF - Friday 8 PM (The Ringwald)
Dogs (Chicago)
Ten some odd Dogs with ten disparate skill sets bringing ten some odd takes on the same suggestion. Each show is full of wit, physical engagement, crisp edits, outrageous games, and, above all else, energy to keep it all together.
The Meeks Shall Inherit the Stern (Toronto)
The Meeks Shall Inherit the Stern performs longform improv shows, usually consisting of 3 or 4 scenes in the span of 20 minutes. If there is something they feel needs to be explored further in one scene, they might live there, making the show a 1 or 2 scene variety.
Chicago Improv Productions Touring Company (Chicago)
Chicago Improv Productions Touring Company performs a mid-form known as The Collage. A form that when directed by Jonathan Pitts, was robust enough to have The Rooftop Players win 17 consecutive cage matches. Pitts has brought the form back with CIPTC and has challenged the differentiation between long-form and short-form; since, The Collage incorporates the speed of short-form with the sensibilities of a long-form piece. Along with getting multiple suggestions through out the show and have been known to break the fourth wall by deeply interacting with the audience. One of the driving CIPTC's philosophies is that the entire theatre is the playhouse. The audiences have been blown away since this group's formless form debut with their colorful balance of energy, patience, and surprise.
