Live Poetry at the Hill Station
Live poetry by Bill Trub, who has spent much of his life waiting to board airplanes. He grew up in the beach town of Brick, New Jersey, earned an MA with distinction from Cardiff University in Wales, served in the United States Peace Corps in rural South Africa, taught teenagers in inner-city Brooklyn and currently works as a lecturer of English at Wenzhou-Kean University in China. Bill is 32 years old and openly male. All Men are Afraid is his debut book; it just wants to be held.
"Bill TrĂ¼b boldly goes where poets fear to tread: across time-zones to surreal mini-worlds where sexual and gender identity morph; brief encounters with lovers, liars, he-men, thieves; filmic visceral prose poems with cutting-edge one-liners and vinyl soundtracks; poems vibrating with soundplay, word association, dark humour." Patience Agbabi
An evening of exciting & challenging poetry, shocking, spicy, edgy and satisfying. Bill's work is not easily defined but always sparks debate. 16+ only.
The price of the ticket includes a meze plate, and the bar will be open!
