The Taphouse Sessions (Comedy Show) at Naked City Brewery & Taphouse
Taphouse Sessions is a monthly stand-up comedy series, produced by, John Gardner, Brett Hamil Hamil, and Kortney Shane Willliams.
Brett is a Stand-Up comedian that has been called a "truly treasured ham" by alt-weekly The Stranger. He performed at festivals in both U.S. and Canada including Bumbershoot Arts & Music Festival (Seattle), Bridgetown Comedy Festival (Portland), and the Northwest Comedy Festival (Vancouver.) He also writes a humor column in City Arts Magazine and is the creator of the award-eligible one-man sketch comedy podcast Ham Radio with Brett Hamil.
John has a day job he considers comedy to be his true calling. Even though no one actually called him to do it, including God, who's usually the one who makes those kind of calls.
The show will be hosted by Kortney who has been featured on Comedy Central's South Beach Comedy Festival, Comedy Time, and was a 2012 Stand-Up NBC Finalist. He is also the editor-in-chief of Comedic Prose, which has been featured on Yahoo! and FoxSports.com.
The Taphouse Session features National touring headliners and good up-in-coming local comics. With the operative word in the previous sentence being "good." You will not see the same stale acts that appear at most comedy shows. That turns your one night out, into a 3 hour marathon of unfunny; which ends up being more depressing than entertaining. Leaving you thinking, "I should have stayed home and watched Seinfeld reruns."
The Next show is at Naked City Brewery, in Greenwood on August 3rd at 7pm Tickets are $6 in advance $10 at the door
