The Architects Practice Act (APA) is designed to protect consumers and has specific provisions that, should you run afoul of them, can cause significant problems for practitioners.
Join AIA San Diego and expert consultants to the CAB for a primer on the act with a special focus on areas of greatest concern: where complaints and discipline steps are most common.
Topics will include:
-Descriptions of the California Architects Board; it's mission and activities -A review of the most important provisions of the APA and a refresher on the statutes regulating architectural practice in California -Close examination of misrepresentation, unlicensed practice, aiding & abetting and how, generally, to stay out of hot water
Q&A after.
AIA and ASLA members only.
Note: this is a brown bag workshop (bring your lunch)
