Sonando Latin Jazz Quintet - An Afro-Caribbean Tribute to Stevie Wonder
The exciting ensemble Sonando offers a unique and fiery blend of contemporary Jazz and Afro-Caribbean traditions. They fuse Jazz with Afro-Caribbean rhythms, Afro-Cuban folklore and Brazilian jazz flavors. On stage the group traverses a musical landscape from improvisational contemporary jazz to rumba and timba-esque dance grooves.
For their October Jazz at Pearl's rhythm-fest, Sonando will perform "InnervisÂones," their intriguing tribute to the music of Stevie Wonder. Mixing the rhythmic intricacy of Afro-Cuban and Brazilian styles with the brilliance of Stevie Wonder's chord progressions and melodic ideas, through "InnervisÂones," Sonando provides a night of crackling, fun-filled music: contagious sound sure to please Jazz, Latin and R&B connoisseurs alike.
