DeadAhead
DeadAhead is ready toÂÂ RockÂÂ the Miners Foundry playing the music of the Grateful Dead and other jamming tunes, including originals by Paul Kamm.
This band, made up of four members of the band ÂÂDEADBEATSÂÂ, and a couple of new faces, will bring their spirited, high energy, dance music to the Miners Foundry on Friday, July 24th at 8PM. ÂÂWe are thrilled to have DeadAhead and the Cheatin Buzzies as part of our Summer Concert seriesÂÂ said Gretchen Bond, Executive Director, ÂÂmembers of both bands have a long history with the Foundry and history and community is what we are all aboutÂÂ. Joining Deadbeat members Gary Campus, Paul Kamm, Glen Tucker, and Mark McCartney will be bass player Marty Holland, and Placerville area musician, Jonny ÂÂMojoÂÂ Flores. Jonny is a gifted guitarist, making his mark on the music scene in the Placerville area. His guitar work is exciting, soulful and will surely make you want to jump up and dance. ÂÂWe are very excited to introduce Jonny to our local fans, and playing the Foundry is like our ÂÂcoming out partyÂÂ, said DeadAhead drummer Gary Campus.
The Deadbeats are not able to play very often, while guitarist Tom Menig is touring with his daughter Alela Diane. ÂÂOur love of playing this music has pushed us forward, and in teaming up with Jonny and Marty, we have a great new sound. This new group, DeadAhead, is ready to carry that torchÂÂ.and keep this great music aliveÂÂ said Campus.
Joining DeadAhead will be area favorites ÂÂThe Cheatin BuzziesÂÂ playing great original music. This group has just finished a new CD. They are a very tight, well rehearsed group, and will surely get the crowd rockinÂÂ. The Cheatin BuzziesÂÂ drummer Robby Kopp was a member of the Deadbeats for about eight years, sharing the drumming job with Gary Campus. Said Campus, ÂÂWe are thrilled to continue this journey, to spend time with our extended Deadbeat family. For years we have brought this great vibe to our shows, and the local audience has made us feel so much apart of the community. So we will keep jamming DeadAheadÂÂ.ÂÂ.
