Red House Live from Landmark Center - Dean Magraw & Eric Gravatt Concert

The dynamic partnership forged between Dean Magaw and Eric Kamau Gravatt, was captured in the studio for a Red House Records jazz fusion album set to debut in early fall. The two virtuosos create soundscapes of rhythm, melody and dimension, with every performance a dazzling reminder of their incredible feel and talent. Saint Paul native, Magraw is a guitarist who has performed with some of music's most iconic players from Greg Brown to jazz legend Jack McDuff to the renowned Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra. Magraw's eclectic mix of musical influences can be heard in more than a dozen albums, including three for Red House Records. Whether he is performing solo, with one of his ensembles, or collaborating with world-class musicians, his seemingly endless positive energy radiates through the music and to those lucky enough to hear it. Gravatt is a master jazz drummer out of the fusion and post-bop traditions. Originally from Philadelphia, Gravatt has played with such illustrious players as McCoy Tyner and Joe Henderson, and was the drummer with the legendary band Weather Report. In the mid-1970s he moved to the Twin Cities and joined with the nationally acclaimed quartet, Natural Life, a band still etched in the memory of local jazz aficionados. Eventually, Gravatt withdrew from active performing, but has recently returned, most frequently with his band Source Code.
Landmark Center and Red House Records' popular concert series "Red House Live from Landmark Center" returns for a fourth year in the F.K. Weyerhaeuser Auditorium at St. Paul's historic Landmark Center. Hosted by various local radio personalities, these concerts will begin at 8 pm and will be preceded by a cocktail hour at 7 pm, giving audiences an opportunity to enjoy complimentary appetizers and a cash bar. Tickets are $18 in advance and include admission to the cocktail hour.
All ticket sales are final. Seating will be assigned by Minnesota Landmarks in the order that orders are received. All tickets will be held at will-call for pick up the day of the performance. Will-call will be available at 7 pm. If you have any special seating needs or special requests, please call 651.292.3063 within 48 hours of your purchase and we will do our best to accommodate them.
