Greenmarket Chef Tours & Tastes with Savoy's Peter Hoffman
Learn first-hand how New York's best chefs create their menus from the freshest, local ingredients available at Greenmarket, and how they are working together with farmers to preserve farmland and encourage sustainable agriculture. Chef Peter Hoffman and Greenmarket staff will be your expert guides, providing a behind-the-scenes perspective on the pleasures and benefits of shopping at the market. You'll begin with a personal tour of the Union Square Greenmarket with Chef Hoffman, then you will head to Savoy and be treated to a private 4-course lunch with wine pairings from the bounties of the day prepared especially for you.
The event is made possible by the extraordinary generosity of Chef Hoffman, Savoy, and the New York Wine & Grape Foundation. All proceeds will benefit Greenmarket's Youth Education Project, which helps nearly 5000 New York City school children gain a better understanding of local agriculture and the importance of eating fresh, seasonal foods.
