GOOD EGGS Tour & Talks
CURIOUS ABOUT HOW TO EVOLVE A TRULY REGIONAL FOOD SYSTEM? JOIN US ON A TOUR OF GOOD EGGS IN SAN FRANCISCO!
TOUR & TALKS/Q&A: Meet with two food producers, The Pasta Shop and New Natives, and the staff of Good Eggs, an infrastructure start-up in San Francisco's DogPatch district that is successfully building a local, sustainable food web in our community. They currently deliver weekly to two South Bay locations on behalf of producers all across our Bay Area region. Good Eggs staff review all offerings and make recommendations each week.
On our June 26th morning walkabout through the Good Eggs distribution hub, we will hear from staff about their business model, their vision for regional food systems and how it all started. Two food producers will also be on hand to tell us their stories and answer questions from Oakland, makers of pasta (including vegan and gluten-free options) The Pasta Shop and a Watsonville organic salad and micro-greens grower New Natives.
ONLINE FOOD ORDERING (optional): Those interested in placing online orders from any Good Eggs producers can do so for collection during our tour but must indicate a pick-up date of 6/26 with delivery to DogPatch/Good Eggs HQ.
PRICE: $10 (SFSB Members)/$12 (Non-members)/Students Free
LOGISTICS: We will meet at Monta Vista Market, 21666 Stevens Creek Blvd, in Cupertino, at 9:00 AM and drive to SF for a 10:30 tour start. Those who place online orders in advance will be able to pick up their items on site. After talks and Q&A, we can decide where to dine locally or disperse according to everyone's preferences. Good Eggs staff have recommendations fairly nearby for a mid-day repast. Esprit Park is also nearby for those wanting to BYOPicnicLunch. Monta Vista Market has great choices for the BYO option.
