History on the Lake - Boat Tour of Lake Monona
Join lake historian Don Sanford and the Madison Trust for Historic Preservation for an afternoon cruise on Lake Monona.
Don has been a Madison resident and Lake Mendota sailor since 1976. He began collecting articles, interviews, and images of Madison's lakes a decade ago, and is the author of the forthcoming book "On Fourth Lake: A Social History Tour of Lake Mendota." Don will share stories of Lake Monona's past as we cruise the shoreline of Lake Monona.
The Tour will leave from the dock behind Machinery Row (601 Williamson St.) at 2:00 on Sunday, July 27 and return at 4:00. Please arrive at least 20 minutes before sailing time to allow for boarding and launch by 2:00pm.
A light buffet and cash bar will be provided. Dress for cooler temperatures on the water.
Parking is available at meters in the Law Park parking lot, or at the Monona Terrace parking ramp for a small fee. There may also be meters available on Wilson St. across from Machinery Row.
