Thursday 08.06.2009, Doors at 7:00 PM, Starts at 7:30 PM, $7 or $5 for SPACE members, All Ages
A comedic take on the Japanese giant monster film, Big Man Japan tells the tale of the pathetic but heroic Daisato. Daisato is part of a family line of giant superheroes. When shocked with bolts of electricity he is transformed into a giant charged with protecting the citizens of Japan from a series of bizarre monsters. But unlike his famous ancestors, Daisato is not appreciated by the people he protects. Instead, he is accused of creating chaos and destruction in his wake. More problematic are an ambitious agent who wants to market Daisato to advertisers and his grandfather with Alzheimer's who has a habit of transforming into a destructive giant in smelly underwear.
