WordSong @ the Loft: Harlem
This program is made possible through a 2010 collaboration with the Boston-based Wordsong and Florestan Recital Project (baritone Aaron Engebreth & pianist Alison d'Amato). WordSong is a new concert format in which one text is presented in multiple, newly composed settings and is the focus of directed conversation among composers, performers, and listeners. WordSong's goal is to reconnect musicians and audiences through shared, active artistic experiences. It is a public conversation about intuitive musical understanding.
Source is thrilled that the inaugural event for WordSong TwinCities is curated by the founder of WordSong Boston: Howard Frazin.

HARLEM - Langston Hughes What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun? Or fester like a sore And then run? Does it stink like rotten meat? Or crust and sugar over like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags like a heavy load
Or does it explode?
