Written near the middle of his career, Much Ado finds Shakespeare playing with some of his favorite themes: love, identity, and the absurdity that comes when sparks fly between lovers. Shakespeare brings all his considerable talents to bear, creating a play that bristles with sharp wit, driven by characters that hilariously and poignantly discover something about themselves and the nature of love.
As with all Factory productions, Much Ado is presented using the staging conditions of Shakespeare's day. Factory productions bring Shakespeare's works to life in a way that is fresh and accessible to modern audiences without compromising the original language. The result is a fun, engaging, and fast-paced show that celebrates the artistry of Shakespeare's language. We call it Uncommon Shakespeare for the Common Man.
