Happy Buddha IX - Improv from 'Sconsin!
The Happy Buddha is excited to bring to the good people of the DMV...Glassworks Improv, fall the way from Eau Claire,Wisconsin. (glassworksimprov.com)
Glassworks Improv are a trio that has been peforming together since grade school... This is before it was called "improv", back when it was just called, "messing around" or "inventing games" or "using the limitless power of the imagination to create whole worlds and people and stories." It was just what they did. In a lot of ways it is what they still do. They took workshops with some of the Second City bigwigs, shared the stage with touring rock bands, and even built a theater in their basement that now features not only other improv groups, but touring bands as well. Like those bands, they've now gone out on tour; they'll make stops in Minneapolis, Detroit, Boston, New York, Philly, Richmond, and, of course, DC, where they'll be staging a very special Thursday night show!
Along with these three likely lads, local legends The Score will take the stage to make instantaneous comedy magic from the songs on your mp3 player, the Buddha will lead the people in Dances for Candy, plus more comedic delights from Hot Meat Sandwich. Don't miss these crazy kids!
Tickets on sale for just five dollars if you purchase before July 1st. Ten dollars pre-sale after that, and Fifteen at the door.
