In Hollywood, a killer spec script is the calling card for any staff writing position. Every word, page number, and formatting choice will be scrutinized to determine whether you're an experienced insider or a fake. To write it properly, you'll need insight that only an experienced professional can offer. Enter "Robot Chicken" writer Rachel Bloom. She got staffed off of her spec script, and she'll help you avoid the rookie mistakes! In this intimate (9 student max) one-day intensive, Rachel will teach you what you need to know to please the pickiest show runners. Through a lively craft lecture and Rachel's help on your spec script idea, you'll find the right program to showcase your talents and devise a compelling new episode. By the end of this class, you'll be on your way to crafting a spec script that's will save you a spot at the writer's table!

Class will be limited to 9 students.
Prerequisites: You must have a draft or spec of a 1/2 hour TV Comedy.

About Rachel Bloom:
Rachel Bloom is a comedian who has written for Robot Chicken, Allen Gregory, and The People's Choice Awards. Rachel sold a musical sitcom to Showtime called "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" and is currently developing it with Aline Brosh McKenna (The Devil Wears Prada, All American Girl). She has also been named a comic to watch by Cosmopolitan, Time Out LA and Backstage. As an actress she has appeared on @Midnight, How I Met Your Mother and provided voices for Robot Chicken, The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange and Netflix's upcoming show Bojack Horseman. Her music videos have been featured by the Onion AV Club, Jezebel, i09 and Splitsider, among others. She has two albums, "Please Love Me" and "Suck It, Christmas!!! (A Chanukah Album)".
