Caroline Aiken
Caroline Aiken started performing professionally in a rock band called Fathertime on Long Island NY in1968. In the late 70's, she began to hone her solo songwriting and guitar craft in front of the most discerning of audiences, opening for Doc Watson, Jessie Colin Young, John Hartford, Bonnie Raitt, David Bromberg, Muddy Waters, and later, Little Feat, Randy Newman, Allen Toussaint, Arlo Guthrie, Richie Havens, and many more. Most recently, Caroline performed on NPR's nationally syndicated radio show MOUNTAIN STAGE Feb 2012, with Randall Bramblett (Bonnie Raitt, Steve Winwood, Chuck Leavell) and John Keane (REM, Widespread Panic, Indigo Girls) which will air MAY 6 2012, just in time for her 2012 three month (May- Aug) national tour. Caroline spent several years in the NW in the mid 70's, busking on the street and learning how to connect to people with music and a sound that would encourage them take time out of their busy lives to stop and listen, think and feel, and maybe put a dollar, vegetables or other goodies from Pike Market into the guitar case.
