Join The Huntington Ranch Garden and Stephen Baldonando from I Garden for the ins and outs of the world of vermiculture. Learn about the ease and advantages of raising your own worms for use in the garden. This workshop provides an accessible scientific approach to the whats, the whys and the hows of vermicomposting and teaches you to how to build an easy, low budget worm bin from scratch.
Please note this workshop will be presented in two parts. We will meet at the Brody Lab for the classroom portion then gather at the Huntington Ranch Garden for a worm compost bin building demonstration. Instructor, Stephen Baldonado owns and operates the garden design and maintenance business, I Garden, where he pairs his experience gathered while working in NYC's Central Park and the NY Botanical Garden with the degree he earned from Cal Poly Pomona in Plant Sciences to create lush outdoor spaces that are both beautiful and bountiful.
This workshop is only open to present and past participants of The Huntington Botanical Gardens "Train - the - Trainer".
This is a grant sponsored course intended as professional development for people actively involved in teaching gardening on a community, education, or professional level.
An email address, program title and year are required to register.
