Seattle Festival of Dance Improvisation's Off the Cuff Concerts
The 16th annual summer dance extravaganza, the Seattle Festival of Dance Improvisation (SFDI) presents Off the Cuff, two evenings of innovative performance with leading dance artists from around the world. Off the Cuff is the only chance each year to see these world-renowned artists gather under one roof in the Northwest.
Faculty shows: Friday 8/7 at 7pm, Saturday 8/8 at 9pm Student shows: Friday 8/7 at 9pm, Saturday 8/8 at 7pm
Slated to perform are some of the shiniest stars of the improvisational dance world: "Bessie" Award winners Benot Lachambre (Montreal) and Stephanie Skura (WA); Contact Improvisation pioneer Nita Little (CA); NYC's Movement Research Co-Founder Daniel Lepkoff (VT); Alicia Grayson (CO); Delia Brett (Vancouver, BC) Margit Galanter (NY); Jack Magai (NY); Karen Schaffman (CA); Susan Schell (ME); Gretchen Spiro (CO); Brad Stoller (PA); local favorites Aiko Kinoshita, Maureen Freehill, Cyrus Khambatta, Tonya Lockyer, Alia Swersky; and many more. The Friday 9pm and Saturday 7pm shows feature dance works by SFDI students from around the world.

The Off the Cuff concerts are part of the 16th annual SFDI (Seattle Festival of Dance Improvisation), August 2-9, a world-renowned dance festival offering master classes with internationally recognized faculty, public performances, jams and more. 17 dance artists and hundreds of students from around the world converge upon Seattle to teach and perform a wide variety of improvisational and related dance techniques.
