Cooks & Books at Bastille, with Thomas Keller, author of 'Ad Hoc at Home'
Thomas Keller, chef/proprietor of the French Laundry and New York's Per Se, may be the most acclaimed chef in America, but he still loves a good home-cooked meal. Born in California, and raised in Florida and Maryland, some of his fondest food memories are of iconic American dishes: fried chicken, biscuits, spareribs, burgers & fries, cherry pie and coconut cake. These are the dishes that inspired his more casual Yountville eatery, Ad Hoc, and he has collected 200 of these recipes in 'Ad Hoc at Home' for us to make at home. Also in this stunning book will be plenty of tips and technique so that you really CAN cook like Thomas does at home (or like co-authors Dave Cruz, Michael Rulhman, and Susie Heller do at home). We will join Thomas for a family-style dinner at Bastille on December 7th. Seating is at 6pm. $150 for all courses, wines, and a signed copy of 'Ad Hoc at Home'; sales tax and 18% gratuity bring the total to $190 per person.
