Phantom Tollbooth
Milo finds the world "bo-ring!" One day he arrives home to find a mysterious package with a miniature tollbooth and a map of "the Lands Beyond". He drives through the tollbooth in his toy car and gets lost in "the Doldrums", where thinking and laughing are not allowed.
In his journey, he's joined by Tock, a "watchdog" with an attached alarm clock. Milo learns of an argument between King Azaz and his brother, the Mathemagician, whose disagreement over words and numbers causes the banishment of Princesses Rhyme and Reason. Milo is dispatched to rescue them from the Land of Ignorance.
