Jazz-A-F!RE and a Hot Jazz Dance Party Return to the new Rhitt's on Rex
The FireHouse Community Arts Center's popular Last Sunday Jazz-A-F!RE Ensemble and BYOI (Bring Your Own Instrument) returns to perform again, Sunday June 29th. Starting at 3 pm you will enjoy the Memphis jazz stylings of vocalist Naomi Williams Moody, pianist Stephen Lee, bass guitarist Kent Suggs and drummer James "Bishop" Sexton, with guest BYOI (Bring Your Own Instrument) performers.
Following the live Jazz-A-F!RE set and to celebrate the diversity of Jazz and its heritage, MBAA adds 2 hours of a legendary Cotton Club style Jazz Dance Party featuring the Big Bands of Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Dave Bruebeck with Swing, BeBop Soul, and Blues and the Latin Sounds of Tito Puente, Mongo Santamaria, Cal Tjader and many more.
Food and beverages will be available to make this a most memorable summer evening benefiting the Memphis Black Arts Alliance, Inc.
