ArtemesiaBlack: Romantic ghost stories within a seductive blend of Americana gothic, folk, singer songwriter, jazz, voix de ville and story telling. ArtemesiaBlack is husband and wife duo Kenny Schick (US multi-instrumentalist with life long performing and music industry experience) and Sabine Heusler-Schick (German born, grew up in Australian now living in the USA, fairly new to the performing music thing but not the whole ghost thing). Buttery vocal harmonies, some wicked acoustic and electric guitar work, banjouke and various other instruments along with a lot of romantic notions, they tell stories about the lives and deaths of the ghosts they meet. The stories are sometimes quirky and funny, but always romantic, and weave through many different genres. They create theatrical, humorous and uplifting live shows. Kenny Schick: Kenny Schick's 5th solo studio Cd - 'SHUFFLE' is Americana with colors of rock, punk and jazz, influences from a multi-genre past. Songs of longing, loss, hope - about love and politics and always thought provoking in his intense and deliberate lyric writing. Schick has a loyal following, and for good reason - his puts on very entertaining live shows, there is passion, laughter, tears, craftsmanship, and thought provoking lyricism. The shows take listeners on a journey with much interplay between him and the audience. Kenny is a generous performer and uses his quick comedic sense to balance the intensity of the songs, which often explore the darker realms of human experience.
He has played rock, jazz, punk, world music, and classical on instruments ranging from screaming electric guitar and energetic saxophone to subdued flute. Once going solo, he spent a year trying to figure out how to strip down his densely layered music to just an acoustic guitar and vocals. Kenny is an accessible guy and he represents a dream - the guy who found his calling at 13 and has been refining his craft ever since with undying passion.
