Emerald and the Love Song of the Dead Fishermen
Pony World, in association with Annex Theatre, presents its debut production: Emerald and the Love Song of the Dead Fishermen, by Brendan Healy.
A stylized, modern maritime odyssey, Emerald and the Love Song of the Dead Fishermen tells the story of a corporate coffee shop barista who sets off to find her father. Drowned at sea the day she was born, when he walks with the other lost fishermen on a mythic island on The Day of Dead Fishermen, Emerald will have one chance to meet him and learn more about herself. The play blends whimsy with poetry through language and staging, employing original sea chanteys and puppets along the way.
"I simply walked into the Sound. Voila. Mermaid."
