OSTEOPOROSIS: PREVENTION AND TREATMENT
Osteoporosis affects 28 million Americans, contributing each year to 2 million bone fractures in women and men. Gradual bone loss, part of the normal aging process, can begin as early as 35 years of age. For people with osteoporosis, the rate of bone loss increases making hip and spine fractures more likely, with women over 50 at the greatest risk. Dr. David Crownover received his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Little Rock, AK, and completed an OB/GYN residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Saint Louis, MO. Dr. Crownover is a board-certified OB/GYN and is a member of the Community Memorial Hospital staff.
