Growing Power is proud to announce another inspiring conference with workshops that will focus on the 2014 theme "Building a Fair Food Economy to Grow Healthy People". This conference will showcase the best practices and principles in sustainable agriculture and the innovations underway that will grow a healthier tomorrow. Conference workshops will be innovative and multidisciplinary facilitated by growers who are currently operating urban and small farms, as well as those who are working in areas that support this emerging area of agriculture and local economic development. These workshops are intended to enhance the skills and broaden the perspective of participants. Networking and Cultural Activities GFJI Film Festival Makers Bazaar- Craft and Technology Skill Share Chef Gala- A Night to Celebrate the Good Food Revolution, showcasing the best regional produce and prepared by fantastic chef luminaries from the Midwest. Milwaukee Field Trips- Come and see why Milwaukee is the Urban Agriculture Capital of the World! The Growing Food and Justice for All Initiative (GFJI) will be holding its seventh annual Gathering concurrently with the conference and will be facilitating networking sessions and cultural events throughout the conference.
