The Good Life with Dacher Keltner, author of 'Born to Be Good: The Science of a Meaningful Life'
Set in the wonderful Hotel Andra Ballroom, The Good Life events begin with cocktails, tasty treats & mingling, and are highlighted by an onstage conversation and interview with the author, led by Warren Etheredge of The Warren Report. Following the talk is a lively audience question and answer period, and then Keltner will personalize your book. Appetizers and a copy of 'Born to Be Good: The Science of a Meaningful Life' are included in the $35 ticket price. A cash bar is available, and the evening ends with a Theo Chocolate confection. ------------------ For more information on this event, please call 206.632.2419 ------------------ In 'Born to Be Good: The Science of a Meaningful Life', his startling study of human emotion, Keltner investigates an unanswered question of human evolution: if humans are hardwired to live lives that are "nasty, brutish and short", why have we evolved with positive emotions like gratitude, amusement, awe, compassion and cooperation? Keltner takes us on a journey into our positive emotions, which lie at the core of human nature and shape our everyday behavior--and they may be the key to understanding how we can live our lives better. Dacher Keltner is a professor of psychology at UC/Berkeley, and the director of the Greater Good Science Center and coeditor of Greater Good Magazine. ------------------ The Good Life has been created by Kim Ricketts Book Events and The Warren Report, and is supported by sponsorships from Children's Trust Foundation, Bastyr University, Tom Douglas Restaurants, Theo Chocolate, Nesting Instincts, and Lush Life Floral.
