KZYX and KZYZ 2009 Luau Fundraiser
KZYX & KZYZ present their 2009 LUAU FUNDRAISER, Saturday, AUG. 8, 2009, starting at 4:00pm. The Luau takes place on the Green at the Boonville County Fairgrounds. Single ticket admission is $40 for members , $20 for members 12-17 years of age, and $45 for non-members. Children 11 and under accompanied by their parents are admitted free. Ticket price includes music and food. There will also be a no-host bar. All proceeds benefit KZYX and KZYZ Public Radio in mendocino County.
Food for the event, included with the ticket purchase, will include appetizers or pupus( including assorted seasonal fruit, sushi, raw veggies, and assorted crackers,) traditional Hawaiian Hot Main Dishes (Kalua Pig, Teriyaki Chicken, Pineapple/Ginger Tofu, White & Brown Rice), Salads (Cabbage/ Bok Choy Salad w/ Sesame Dressing, Macaroni Salad, Poi;) Desserts (Traditional Coconut Pudding, Pineapple, Papaya, Mango, Chinese Almond Cookies;) Beverages (included w/ Meal, i.e.,Tropical Fruit Punch, Ice Tea.)
Bar Items, available for purchase, include Kona Beer, Mendocino County Wine, Bottled Water, and Canned Sodas.
Some great Hawaiian music and hula entertainment will feature, from Maui, the Hoku Award winning Slack Key guitar of Kevin Brown, and the beautiful voice and hula of Robyn Mahealani. Also appearing will be Hawaii Music Award winner Faith Ako, local favorites Hui Arago, and hula from the ladies of O Lei Palaoa, and Halau Na Pua O Ka La'Akea.
