June 13th, 2014 - Join Beyond Ghosts LLC and Buffalo History Tours, as we take "Para-history" to an exciting whole new level on Friday the 13th! We've been granted unique access to the fabled and historic Erie Canal Ruins for an unprecedented evening of haunts and history...Buffalo style! And we want to bring you along for the ride.

Your evening will consist of a brief historical overview, an authentic psychic impression of the location (Psychic Medium attending TBA), and a one of a kind "hands on" paranormal investigation of the ruins helping us search for possible phenomena which may still linger there!

Bear in mind that the area surrounding the Erie Canal Ruins of Today were a lot different over a hundred and fifty years ago! Historically, this very same piece of real estate, roughly Canalside and the Marine Drive Apartment area,  was known as "The most evil square Mile in America." And with good reason!

The terminus of the canal, where Erie Canal met the Buffalo river, is the area immediately along the Ruins. The Ruins are actual foundations of buildings that existed along the Commercial Slip hundreds of years prior.  These buildings were likely to have been, bars, hotels, flop houses, brothels, dry good stores, etc. Popular places to visit off the radar as far as polished and polite society was concerned.

Violence and death stalked the area.  Disease was rampant, spread by poor sanitation, over crowding, and the sex trade. Cholera came up the canal from NYC and took hold of the 'district' with a vengeance.  Violence fueled by transient sailors, local dock hands, and other inebriates, led to chaos, injury ,and murder.  Many stories tell of locals who preyed upon drunken sailors or immigrants, luring them into their saloons, drugging them, robbing them, and then simply dumping them into the canal.

Records were not kept as much back then, but newspaper accounts tell of a hellish and miserable existence in and around canalside and what is today the Erie Canal Ruins. If ghosts still haunt canalside, this is a good place to start looking!

Suffice it to say, this unsavory area gave rise to an untold number of crimes, especially homicides, which went unreported and unsolved. To give you a better sense of this area's back story in a historical sense, think along the lines of the motion picture "Gangs of New York." Welcome to the "Hooks."

If haunted history and supernatural tales are you're fancy, then "Haunts and History at the Erie Canal Ruins" is the event for you and yours. Please note, all attendees 17 and over please as some content may be unsuitable for younger participants. For entertainment purposes only. Limited tickets available, on sale NOW.

No refunds or exchanges on event tickets. All sales final. A rescheduled date will be made available in the unlikely event the date is postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.

General Admission Ticket - 10PM to 12AM - $15 ($20 day of). The group will meet at the Canalside Bridge.
