Simply Phenomenal - A Maya Angelou Tribute
Mixed Magic Theatre will replace previously scheduled performances of Ntozake Shange's "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow Is Enuf", with a special tribute to the late Maya Angelou. Ms. Angelou, who died on May 28th, 2014 has been an inspiration to people around the world. Her stories and words have been a particular inspiration to African American artists, as well as religious and political leaders. This tribute will feature a diverse array of performers from the Mixed Magic family, as well as special guest artists for each performance. This tribute will be an enjoyable and informative treat for people of all ages as it pays homage to a remarkable woman, who lived a remarkable life as she rose from poverty and despair to become an American icon and beloved world figure.
