Intro to After Effects with our very own John Pilgrim!
Adobe After Effects is a complex and versatile application for creating motion graphics and visual effects for film and video. This class will provide an overview of using After Effects for tasks useful to Scary Cow-type productions.
The class should be relevant to post-production folks interested in adding After Effects to their toolkit, as well as to producer/director/writers wanting to understand the possibilities and requirements of low budget visual effects and motion graphics.
Participants will be introduced to the user interface, program workflow and key features by examining a number of shot breakdowns, including: - Title sequences and credit rolls - Keying and compositing green screen footage - Replacement of logos, signs, TV screens, etc - Simulating 3D moves with 2D images - Format conversion and time remapping - Special effects using filters
Be prepared for a whirlwind tour with a lot of detail. While we won't have much time in three hours to go into depth, participants should leave much more able to begin working in the program. Detailed notes will be provided.
