Regional Bias: A Celebration of Bay Area Music and Culture to Benefit The Bay Bridged
Featuring performances by: French Miami Adam Stephens and the Finite Plain Or, the Whale (acoustic) Leopold & his Fiction
with DJ sets by: John Vanderslice & Joshua Rampage (maus haus)
For the past three and half years, The Bay Bridged has been proud to promote the San Francisco Bay Area indie music scene through our popular web site TheBayBridged.com, ongoing series of "The Bay Bridged Presents" live events, compilation releases and more. On Friday, July 31, 2009, we're supremely excited to host our biggest San Francisco event yet: Regional Bias: A Celebration of Bay Area Music and Culture to Benefit The Bay Bridged.
Taking place at the Verdi Club in Potrero Hill, Regional Bias is a celebration of the things that make living in the Bay Area a great, unique experience. As you might expect, we'll have four great San Francisco Bay Area bands and some celebrity DJs providing some great music throughout the night, but we'll also be showcasing some of the other things we love, namely the Bay's vibrant visual arts and food scenes. But if the rich experience isn't enough, proceeds from the event will support our efforts at The Bay Bridged to bring you the best of the San Francisco Bay Area music scene.
The evening will begin at 7:30pm with a happy hour art show featuring work from local artists and Mission District based art collective, CityArt, with music from celebrity DJs John Vanderslice and Joshua Rampage (maus haus). Any art purchased during Regional Bias will benefit the artists and The Bay Bridged. We'll also have delicious grub available for a small donation beginning at happy hour, courtesy of our food sponsors Sneaky's BBQ, Slow Club/Serpentine, and Bi-Rite Grocery. The tasting will be available while supplies last.
Following happy hour, a night of great live music will begin, with performances from four of our favorite Bay Area bands: Leopold and his Fiction's raw, bluesy rock, Or, the Whale performing a rare acoustic set, Adam Stephens and the Finite Plain introducing the Two Gallants member's amazing new band, and a party-closing set of addictive synth-rock from French Miami. Each band brings something a little different to the event, but all of them are guaranteed to rock.
There will also be a raffle with prizes including tickets to Outside Lands, Treasure Island Music Festival, and more!
General Admission tickets are $15-$30 (Sliding Scale)
VIP Tickets are $50 and include free food, beer, a show poster, and a special gift!
