Black Market Karma, Delta Mainline & The Anteloids
Headlining is the London based 6 piece Black Market Karma! Their music covers a range of textures and sounds, taking influence from the 1960's psychedeIic and garage movements, with bands such as The Velvet Underground, The Beatles (Revolver, Magical Mystery Tour) to the neo psychedelic music of the 80's & 90's with bands like Jesus & Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine, Spacemen 3, Brian Jonestown Massacre etc. their live shows inevitably turn into a celebration of music and energy!
Supporting we bring you Edinburgh psych rockers Delta Mainline! Renowned for their colossal live sound and distinctive blend of psychedelia, rock & roll, country and gospel, the band released their debut album 'Oh! Enlightened' in May 2013 through Rehab Sound (UK) and Halcyon Records (North America) to universal critical acclaim most notably from Uncut, Q Magazine, Artrocker, The Scotsman, The Sun, The Irish Times, The Daily Express, The Daily Star and God Is in the TV. Engineered and co-produced by David McAulay (Mogwai, Remember Remember) at the legendary Chem 19 Studios over two years, the result is an album rich with texture and tinged with healthy doses of psychedelia, which tumbles from atmospheric soundscapes to vibrant bursts of melody.
The band celebrated the release with a live session and interview on BBC Radio Scotland with Vic Galloway. Further notable radio play included Lauren Laverne on BBC 6Music, XFM and Amazing Radio, with the latter's Jim Gellatly "the voice of new music in Scotland" consistently hailing Delta Mainline as one of the country's finest live acts. In addition to this, Oh! Enlightened's release was marked with sold-out launch parties at The Voodoo Rooms (Edinburgh) and the Bull & Gate (London). An eventful 2013 also saw the band complete a UK tour and play the final night of the Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia, who included the band on their PZYK 0002compilation to mark Cassette Store Day.
Oh! Enlightened follows 2010 EP 'In a World Full of Madness, the Simple Joy of Melody Can Pull You Through' (Rehab Sound), which successfully captured the band's dynamic live sound, as the songs cascade from sweet and simple melodies into intense sonic experimentation. The band were also showcased amongst "the cream of the guitar-based psychedelia-influenced crop" (Drowned in Sound) by way of their appearance on The Third Wave Collective compilation 'Strung Out Volume One' withCaribou, The Brian Jonestown Massacre and Spectrum. Meanwhile 'Harbour Haven Light', self-released in 2012, was selected by CNN to feature as part of a documentary broadcast worldwide.
In December 2013 the band released a limited edition festive album 'Oh! Ho! Ho!' alongside an announcement of their intention to record a second full-length album. TheEdinburgh Evening News subsequently dubbed Delta Mainline as one of three artists from the capital set to make a 'big impact in 2014'. The band's debut single will be released on a limited vinyl run in September alongside dates with Moon Duo and cult Californian band Spindrift.
