Fruit of Zaloom
Fruit of Zaloom covers a myriad of contemporary subjects, including the War on Drugs, gay adoption, moral hypocrisy, Dont Ask, Dont Tell, mandatory minimum sentencing, the Log Cabin Republican Club, police brutality, and last but not least: death! Directed by Randee Trabitz, this triple play places Zaloom, a gay Arab American with both Catholic and Protestant Irish blood, squarely into the middle of the culture wars that continue to be waged across the American landscape. Humor, Zaloom's weapon of choice, is used to disarm and encourage, to melt the pessimism away, and to hurt the face from a cornucopia of amusing fabulousness. Fruit of Zaloom is made possible in part because of collaboration with Science Chicago
