Bikes, BBQ, & beer: Vote Solar does Climate Ride
This September, Vote Solar will be strapping on our helmets and hitting the open road for Climate Ride. This 5-day charity bike ride from NYC to DC will help us raise needed funds and awareness for solar energy solutions.
Help us reach our team fundraising goal, learn more about Climate Ride, and kick back with local solar advocates while enjoying a day of leisurely bike rides, BBQ and beer!
Here's the plan:
10am: Meet at the "Fern" picnic site in Tilden Regional Park to depart on a guided group bike ride - we'll have options for both beginners and the more experienced*
12pm: Meet back at the picnic site to stuff our bellies full of BBQ and beer!
*Not a biker? That's ok! Please join us for the picnic portion of the party.
Each of the 8 members (and counting!) of Team Vote Solar will ride a whopping 300 miles during Climate Ride. Please help us cover those miles and more with a suggested donation of $25. DIRECTIONS TO FERN PICNIC AREA:
Take Fish Ranch Rd off Hwy 24 to Grizzly Peak Blvd. Turn right on South Park Dr to enter the south end of the park. South Park is closed Nov through Mar, during this follow the same directions to Grizzly Peak Blvd, but continue on Grizzly Peak for 3.1 miles to the stop sign at Golf Course Rd and turn right. FROM HWY 80 take University Ave exit in Berkeley. Follow University to Oxford. Turn left on Oxford to Rose, right on Rose 1 block to Spruce, left on Spruce to the top of the hill. Go across the wide intersection and make a sharp left turn down Canon Dr to enter park. Central Park Dr, Berkeley, CA 94708.
