Genie and Audrey's Dream Show!
A quirky absurd comedy, the show depicts the erratic dream logic of a night's slumber utilizing circus arts such as acrobatics, juggling, and clowning, as well as poetry, dance and music. A unique show for all ages about friendship, dreams and the importance of being silly.
"Charming music mixed with impressive physical talents and a splash of clowning around, this show will definitely lift your spirits."-- Alexia Staniotes

Genie Cartier started training as an acrobat at the age of six, and has been performing in circus shows ever since. She has performed all over San Francisco and Los Angeles, everywhere from hormonal 16-year-old's birthday parties getting paid in cake, to the mansion where Brad Pitt married Jennifer Aniston, sipping $5000 tequila. She recently completed her MFA in Creative Writing at SFSU, and continues to write poems on napkins and the backs of receipts on the bus. She loves folding chairs Born and raised in beautiful Boise Idaho, Audrey Spinazola came to the Bay Area to follow her dreams of becoming a clown. After graduating from two conservatory programs, The Clown Conservatory out of San Francisco's Circus Center and Flying Actors Physical Theatre Conservatory, she co-founded Main Street Theatre where she continues to play and create. She has performed with Bay Area Children's Theater, been a robot for Flummox and Friends, volunteered as a therapeutic hospital clown for ClownZero, and can be seen playing out on the town with her two-man-band Carl and Beatrice. She loves wacky water instruments.

AUDIENCE REVIEWS FROM GENIE & AUDREY'S 2013 SF FRINGE SHOW:

I saw this show at the San Diego Fringe, and it was my favorite of the many I saw. It is charming, sweet, earnest, and a little bit magical. It's a vaudeville circus romp with music and puppets featuring two young women who reminded me of Abbott and Costello, Laurel and Hardy, and Lucy and Ethel. Yet they have their own unique vibe that is, well, dreamy. Absolutely not to be missed. --Michael Schwartz

I saw this show at the San Diego Fringe Festival this year (2013), and it opened up my eyes to fringe-y, non commercial genius! I can't wait to catch their next show, and next time, I'm watching it twice!Jason

Dudes and Dudettes, people hang upside down from ropes VIA LEG from the ceiling in Genie and Audrey's Dream Show. How often do you see that in theatre? Get in there!-- Russell Horvath

Genie and Audrey's Dream Show is magical! Makes the viewer dive into a dream world of adventure!-- Jose Cadena Whimsical, astute, and magical! These two bendy ladies show off their array of talents in a childlike nostalgic show with intelligent writing. Loop machines, acrobatics, and puppets- Go see it! --Janet Leon

I've seen this show three times, and I'm excited to go see it again! They have a cat piano. A CAT. PIANO. How often do you see that? Never, that's how often. Go see this show!-- Anthony Pingerra

Had a chance to see Genie and Audrey in San Diego, and they are charming, talented, and have an infectious joy for performing. This is what the Fringe is all about!-- Mike Marinaccio

One word: delightful. More than one word: I saw Genie and Audrey's Dream Show yesterday at the Exit Stage Left and WHAT A PERFORMANCE!! These ladies are super-talented, super-flexible, super-strong and super good at making eccentric music. Crystal glasses, awesome puns, spectacular dance number and it fugues hardcore at the end. So if you're into excellent storytelling, awesome, inventive performances and fedoras, do it. Two words: Do It. --Sam

What a couple of cuties. Good old fashioned circus-y FUN. Genie and Audrey take you on a whimsical playful adventure filled with music, acrobatic feats, and clowning. Great for adults and kids alike. My favorite part? The secret hand shake! Ridiculous!!! --Jill Vice

Genie and Audrey's Dream Show is fantastic. Genie and Audrey basically defined for me why clowning is an awesome, important, beautiful medium of expression. The show's narrative is simple and elegant  two friends fall asleep and enter a dreamy, interactive playground of awesome acrobatics by Genie, loopy music and singing from Audrey, and a waterfall of jokes from both of them  but the little moments were so endearing and hilarious. They fight, but make up. They toss bombs, and undo the damage. It's the kind of entertainment that little kids and cynical adults can enjoy on completely the same level, which is sort of sublime, right? Totally awesome and so worth my ticket I can't even stand it. --Amy K Bell Charming and delightful! This show has everything: cats, accordions, cat pianos, feats of strength, feats of silliness, foot toast, bad jokes, bubbles. What more can you ask for? --Arie Levine

One of my dearest friends is a clown.
And I mean that in the most admiring and respectful way!
Genie Cartier and Audrey Spinazola's genuine talent and personal charm give them license to successfully carry a silly, subtly nuanced, child-like, tongue-in-cheek, nostalgic (for some of us), most entertaining "Dream Show" at the Exit Theater for San Francisco Fringe Theater Festival 2013.
Do you remember "The Judy Miller Show?" You're gonna love Genie & Audrey! NO? Doesn't matter  you're gonna love Genie & Audrey!
Don't hold back  you owe it to yourself to support "Genie And Audrey's Dream Show"  Only $10 cash At-the-Door --Margarita Galindo

it's been said abovethis show is absolutely charming. delightful, adorable, inventive, and well-rehearsed would be other appropriate descriptors. there's a tremendous amount of imagination on display here; the nonlinear structure and oblique, innocent thematic associations bespeak not only dreams, but also that dream we all share: childhood. --Martin Schwartz

After having just seen this show at the 22nd SF Fringe festival, I have to say that it is a delight for both kids and adults (though I did catch a late showing with an all adult crowd and it was perfectly entertaining still, nothing is dumbed down or overtly "for adults only" when there aren't any kids around). Charming music mixed with impressive physical talents and a splash of clowning around, this show will definitely lift your spirits. --Alexia Staniotes

By far the best thing I've seen at any Fringe festival. Hilarious and amazing and wonderful. I'm so in love with both these incredibly talented women. --Jack Boos

You two clowns ROCK! I want to adopt the both of you and have you put me through collage! Whatever collage you went to. This show was so funny and these two women showed such a high level of skill in so many areas! They just charmed the soxs off of me and my friends! You two are best of fringe! Thank you for all the fun! --David Cage
