biddeford ball
ONLINE TICKET SALES HAVE ENDED -- HOWEVER TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE @ THE EVENT
On August 23rd, 2014, the first annual Biddeford Ball benefit will feature an Angelrox Fashion Show, Maker's Market, Silent Auction & semi-formal dance with live music inside the vast lobby of Building 13 of the historic Pepperell Mill Campus. This year's event has two causes it is focused on raising funds for. Twenty-five percent of proceeds will benefit local food banks to help feed the hungry through Union Church Missions. The remainder of the proceeds will be used for exterior renovation of the Marble Block, a historic building at 129 Main Street in Biddeford, which is being transformed into a Center for Art and Design by Engine, a not-for-profit community arts organization.
The centerpiece of the event will be the semi-formal ball. A chance for ladies and gents to dress up if they like, celebrate community and dance the night away. Adding further excitement will be a full-scale runway show featuring the versatile designs of angelrox modeled by a beautiful range of ages, stages and sizes. Among the models will be local "celebrities" who will raise further funds through pledges to see them walk the runway. The event in downtown Biddeford starts at 7pm with a Maker's Market and Silent Auction that is free to attend and open to the general public. Looks from the runway will be available for purchase along with other locally made artisanal work including food & beverage. Vendors at the market will donate a generous percentage of their sales to the cause. Tickets for the runway show and ball, which begins at 8:30pm, are available for purchase at www.suger.me/ball and cost $25 for general admission, $45 for families (2 adults & up to 3 children) and $100 for VIP passes.
The Biddeford Ball was founded by designer Roxi Suger and is being further inspired and guided by a beautiful group of individual community members and organizations. Initial partners include Heart of Biddeford, Liv for Events, Pepperell Mill Campus, Engine, Visions of Maine, and Biddeford Pool's historic Union Church. If interested in becoming a partner, sponsor or volunteer please contact sunshine@suger.me
